This is a small pond at Enchanted Hills. I spent a lot of time making this print. The highlight and shadows were very difficult to work with. When I got the dodging part right, burning in the highlights did not work out. And vice versa. Finally I was able to make a print that I was satisfied with that had the detail in the shadows and did not wash out the trees in the back. I was also trying to get the reflection of the trees in the water such that it would be difficult to tell which side was right side up; but that is hard in such a large area shot. I have other pictures where I came really close though. Enchanted Hills is truly enchanting. I loved being there. Maybe when I move back to San Francisco I will be able to volunteer with Rose Resnick Lighthouse again and be able to accompany them to the campsite again.
