If you have read About Me, you already know that I like a whole variety of stuff. Here you get to go even deeper inside my head.

Ever since I can remember, I have been interested in science. When I was really young, I wanted to be a medical doctor. That all changed one day in Suva when I had to go visit one for I don't remember what. Anyway, the doctor decided that he needed a blood sample from me. I have this thing about blood, see, and the thought of that needle in my arm didn't sit right with my stomach so I ran. I hid right outside behind the open door that was the entrance to the doctor's office. My aunt, who had accompanied my mom and I to the doctor's office, came to look for me. As my luck would have it, I hid beside the wrong door because when she leaned outside the window, which happened to be on my right, to see whether I had run outside, she caught me hiding behind the door. Needless to say I was dragged into that aweful chair where my mom and aunt held me down while the doctor drew blood. That was the last time I remember wanting to be a doctor when I grew up. I am glad now that I had that particular experience which turned me away from wanting to be a doctor because I cannot handle all the biology and having to memorize names of body parts which to this day I don't know the locations of. Don't get me wrong, I think that being a medical doctor is probably one of the most important jobs in the whole world, right below teaching. I figured since I could not be a doctor myself, that I would marry one. But it is not possible to have all wishes come true. Besides, I gave up wishing after I made one ultimate wish.

However, I did not loose interest in science. I dabbled in chemistry, if one can call it that, and electronics, again I am being very vague, for a brief period when I had a whole bunch of equipment and lots of room to build a backyard laboratory which did nothing but scare the neighbors kids that I was going to blow their house up. I was about 8 or 9 years old then. I kept a little notebook, well ate least for a week I did, in which I wrote down my theories as to what makes the world go round, how clouds form other stuff like that. It was very Aristotelian. I do not care to discuss my theories since they were most absurd knowing what I now know about how the world works. Then for a few years, I did other stuff which did not have any scientific basis at all. I built myself a little hut where I used to spend time reading and doing stuff. I got interested in toy soldiers and played out battles with my friends. All this happened in a small town called Tavua.

Then I moved back to Suva and to my old school, Nehru Memorial Primary School. I started sixth grade there with a different group of kids than the I was was with when I went to Nehru the first time around. It was the same grade level but with a different group. I never could figure that out. I wanted to be with my friends in the other group but for some reason it did not happen. Anyway, I guess I was pretty lucky that had happened to me. If it had not I would not have met Amit or Sachin. I had to wait a whole year before that would happen. I was considered a geek throughout the sixth grade and some of the seventh grade. Then in seventh grade, I went to see a movie with my brother and cousins. It was called "Long Shot" and it was about horse racing or something.
