More of my life here in the good ol' U.S. of A.

ASCC trip to LA While I was going to Chabot College, I joined the student government, ASCC. I was lucky enough to be appointed an executive position, the California State Association of Community Colleges Representative for Chabot College. Each year there is a conference of all colleges to discuss issues and learn new stuff. Well I got to go to one of these with a few other ASCC members. We stayed at the Renaissance in Long Beach, California, where this picture was taken during dinner one night. From the left, Jacob, myself, Raymond, Astrid, Jenny and Christina.

There was some free time while I was at the conference. Amit, who had picked us up from the airport, came by one evening to the hotel after the conference and we headed off to the Universal City Walk. We had dinner there at the Hard Rock Cafe where this picture was taken. Amit and I at Hard Rock Cafe
Alpine Village There is a great little place in LA called Alpine Village. It has been constructed to look like a European village. They have a whole bunch of authentic European stuff, music, beer, gift shops, etc. plus some local things as well. Pretty neat, I suggest that you check it out if you can next time you are in LA. This picture was taken on our way back to the airport from the conference. That is Erwin on the left, then Astrid, Bal and me.
During the same time, I co-founded an environmental awareness club (Club Earth) with Jenny. Every semester there is a Club Day where all clubs came out to recruit new members and let others know what they were all about. This picture was taken at our first club day appearance in the Fall of 1996. That is my brother holding the flag with me. I was really proud of the Club and its members. We won the Associated Students of Chabot College Club Merrit Award the first two years we were in existance. I was vice-president during the first year and president during the second. Me again! This picture was take about a a year later in the Chabot newpaper (Spectator) office. I was the Photo Editor for the paper for a very brief time. I realized that the workload was too much to handle, me being president of Club Earth and taking close to 20 units of schoolwork. I have no idea who took this picture and how I came about to posses it but I think it looks cool and that is why I have included it in here.
